Over the past 10 days, WordPress has released no less than 4 updates solely for security reasons. For example, version 7.0.2 contained vulnerabilities, particularly concerning the possibility of recovering administrator credentials and the encrypted password (sends shivers down your spine, doesn’t it?).
All these updates must be followed up, especially the most sensitive ones: those for plugins and the theme.
Fortunately, one of CybSyn’s main concerns is Security (which includes the integrity of our servers). Updating your site is part of this.
Indeed, the Boss experienced a real nightmare in 2013 during a major infection of his servers, after which he swore he would never be caught out again and would never, ever relive that.
For a little story (or rather, a fairy tale 2.0)
Once upon a time, well, recently, on one of the sites we host, we suddenly noticed an abnormally high rate of these approval requests. You should know that we pay particular attention to the many alert messages, and among them, to comment validation requests. And it turned out that the site in question had been infected by several pirate accounts that had inserted numerous fake articles followed by a host of equally fictitious comments. We, of course, immediately cleaned everything up and placed the site under enhanced surveillance.
The site owner saw nothing, heard nothing. In fact, he didn’t realize anything. This is normal because, for us, that’s what we call a job well done (and done as quickly as possible). The Boss, the Good Fairy, in a way.
Our system, or how the magic works (LTCM, short for ‘Let It Go, It’s Magic’)
Each WordPress site we host is referenced in our database with its essential information for us: presence of articles, portfolios, e-commerce, projects, testimonials, installed theme and editor, specific plugins, etc.
This is how we can detect an anomaly or strange behavior at any time.
The Boss’s Man in the Shadows
The person responsible for this monitoring is our Support Manager: Éric.
Éric, 38, is a passionate IT specialist, with basic training in ‘Mainframes’ (or central computers, which are very powerful computers used by large organizations), which requires an organized structure and very strict validation procedures, analysis methods, and specific languages.
Éric developed an overflowing passion for WordPress as well as for AI on the Web market. He loves his job because he is a responsive, curious person who likes work that is well done, tested, and validated. He is one of our best ‘testers,’ and everything passes through his hands to validate the links, calculations, procedures, and sequences (what we call ‘recipes’) of the sensitive websites we create.
No support message (a ticket, in the jargon) is left aside, and Éric respects deadlines as much as he can (he’s human, let’s not forget. Sometimes he eats, and sometimes he even sleeps!).
Since he started helping us, he has completely organized his work and missions:
- review of all Wordfence alerts sent by the various sites,
- updates of themes, plugins, and WordPress for each site,
- monitoring of Support.

All this to allow you to enter your articles, portfolios, and other content freely… (and especially without having to call on unscrupulous IT specialists, unlike them… No, we won’t name anyone.
